Why Guidance?Middle School students present a unique developmental aptitude toward their acquisition of skills. These skills include: self-awareness and assessment, decision-making, problem solving, conflict resolution, and academic/social goal identification. As a group, middle school students are far more available for personal transformation than previously in their young lives. In the guidance program, these students will strengthen their knowledge and skills to enhance learning in and outside of school, and throughout their life.In a non-threatening, supportive atmosphere individual students and student groups are encouraged to come forth with any/all matters that may enhance or hinder their development. Our guidance program engages students in activities that provide opportunities for discussion, integration, and application of concepts in the classroom and beyond. While the student is the center of the program, parents, teachers, and other members of the school community are integral partners in supporting the development of each student. We look forward to celebrating and affirming students as they move towards their goals.
