This year promises to be another exciting and successful year for your child. 

We have been working very diligently over the summer to ensure a smooth opening for all students.  Our technology team has installed new wireless access points in each of our schools to guarantee that all of our students have equal access to technology.  With this new wireless environment, our teachers will be able to incorporate more interactive learning opportunities for all students.  Additionally, this year we are piloting a one-to-one Chromebook initiative where each fifth grade student will receive a Chromebook to complete classwork and homework assignments.  Fifth grade parents will receive more information once school begins. 

I have met with our teaching and administrative staff and they are enthusiastic about meeting your child and creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment.  Teachers this year will receive many professional development opportunities.  This will allow our teachers to learn the very best instructional practices to reach all learners.  Our curriculum is also being revised to reflect these best practices while also incorporating the recently revised New Jersey Learning Standards.

Lastly, I encourage you to be visible in our schools by volunteering your time and talents to support our students.  This year, our district will be working closely with the PTO to assist in beautifying our learning spaces with seasonal flowers, murals as well as transforming green spaces at Millington School.
