It is hard to believe that our year is coming to an end! I cannot thank you enough for sharing your children with us this year! I have truly enjoyed working and learning with each and every child! It has been a joy watching their curious eyes light up during new tasks and watching their excitement when they learned to do a task on their own.
June is a short month, filled with camping and a Father’s Day theme – sure to get your child ready for summer! Please continue to make sure that you send your child to school wearing the appropriate clothing and footwear, as we may be going out on the playground for our center time. During the week of June 5th, we will be experiencing what it is like to go camping. We will go on a “hike” around Gillette School, find sticks for our “fire”, make a campfire to eat, tell stories around the pretend campfire, and do activities in real camping tents. I will be bringing in camp tents for the children to do activities in. They will be quite excited to see their classroom filled with these big tents. Our show and tell for this week will be a favorite book. We will keep the books in the classroom for a few days, in order to make sure all books get read around the campfire. Also, our end of the year class parties will take place on Thursday, June 8th. All parents are invited to attend. However, we ask that you please arrange for siblings to be left at home with a caregiver. This is a special day for you to celebrate with your preschool child. The AM party will take place from 10:00-11:30. The PM party will take place from 1:30-3:00. Class parents will notify you about items to bring.
During the week of June 12th, we will be discussing Father’s Day. We will be doing many activities that will be kept a secret, in order to surprise our Daddies. Our show and tell for this week will be a picture of our Daddy.
Finally, during the week of June 19th, we will be doing many end of the year fun activities!! June 19th will be the last full day of school. On June 20th, only the PM class will come to school for their last day from 9-11:30. There will not be an AM class on this day. On June 21st, only the AM class will come to school for their last day from 9-11:30. There will not be a PM class on this day.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I hope everyone enjoys their summer break!
