Welcome to the art program at Millington and Gillette Schools. The art room is a place where students are engaged in various fine art projects that incorporate art history, art appreciation, as well as projects that are cross curricular. Students work with various mediums such as crayon, cra-pas, pastel, watercolor, tempera paint, acrylic paint, metal, and clay. Students work on some projects in which they follow directions carefully, as well as others in which they explore and discover with various art mediums, and use their imagination to express themselves.
The only expectations I have for students, is to open up their minds, be creative, and have lots of fun! Also, I do hope that they will not wear their best clothing to art class.

Horizon art is the gifted and talented art program for students who are in 3rd- 5th grades. Students who are accepted into the program attend horizon art class 1 day a week in addition to their regular art class. The program starts in December and runs through the end of May. Tryouts begin in September of each year. If you are interested in having your child try out, I recommend that you save all your child's artwork. Any further questions, feel free to email me anytime.

I graduated from Montclair State with a B.A. in Art Education, and earned an M.S. in Communication Design from Pratt Institute. Prior to my teaching position at Millington, I lived and worked in NYC as an in-house graphic designer for the music industry. In past years I have taught design classes at Middlesex County College and St. John's University in Staten Island.
Currently, I live in Metuchen with my husband, and two children. I enjoy visiting galleries and museums, and enjoy painting with acrylics on paper. I used to be in an artist's coop in Metuchen, and I currently serve on the committee for Boy Scout Troop 17 of Metuchen. I also serve as a craft juror for the annual NJ Folk Arts Festival held on the Douglass campus of Rutgers University each spring.
