Dear Parents and Guardians,Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! My name is Patrick Golub, and I am excited to be running our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program this year. In addition, I will be functioning as Millington’s technology teacher. In this role, I coordinate with students and teachers in both the computer lab and individual classrooms at all grade levels. Together we prepare students for PARCC testing, as well as, collaborate on projects that incorporate computer software and technology.
Beginning with our 5th grade classes (in late September/early October), students will be participating in dynamic, hands-on activities that will hone and develop their logic and reasoning skills. Later in the school year, our 4th grade students will experience the program at their targeted developmental level. Finally, we will be ending the year with an introduction for 3rd grade classes as well. Implementation of the STEM program will help to continue Millington School's tradition of promoting critical thinking, problem solving, and thoughtful reflection on a range of subjects and important issues. By utilizing and building upon such skills previously learned, students will be able to meet and hopefully exceed the challenges that will be placed on them in an ever-changing global society.
This is my thirteenth year at Millington School, and as a former alumnus of Millington School, it is an honor to teach here and help provide your child with the same quality of education I received. I have really enjoyed working in the supportive environment of the Long Hill community, and I am confident that we can make this school year a success.I am looking forward to a very successful year, and have high expectations for your child. I will be doing all that I can to help your child achieve, while he/she makes a commitment to the learning process.
In essence, I truly love teaching and I am very happy that I will be able to share this upcoming year with your child. I look forward to meeting all of you soon. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at: pgolub(at)longhill(dot)org.
Regards,
Mr. Golub
