    *If you have any extra board games, card games, Jenga, etc., our class would love to have them. We have a lot of rainy days here, and it's always fun to have new games to play. Thank you so much!

    *3H is PEANUT AND TREE NUT FREE!! Please do not send any snacks or birthday treats with peanut products in them! Peanut products are allowed only in the lunchroom.

    *Students must pass the 100 division facts test in 5 minutes by the end of the fourth marking period.  Study those facts every day!

    *Lunch is 12:30-1:00 and recess is 1:05-1:35 every day.

    Expectations: I expect all students to work hard, listen carefully, and do their best!
     
    Daily Homework: We will have math and spelling every night. We could have some cursive practice from time to time too! Also, each child should read for at least 20 minutes every night!  Students will receive a reading log every Monday.  They can read alone, or they can read with someone.  Reading every night is very important to become better readers!  This will be due back to school each Friday!

    Spelling homework schedule is as follows: 

    (Spelling could change if there is a short week. Please check your child's homework journal on short weeks!)

    Monday - 3x each (Please fold the paper into thirds.)

    Tuesday - ABC order (Please have a "Practice" and "Final" column.)

    Wednesday- Choose 10 words to write sentences, or use 10 words in a story.  (Please underline the words!)

    Thursday – study for spelling test.

    Friday – no homework.

    Math-    

     
    *We will begin: "Step-Up to Fourth Grade Math!"
     
    ELA-   

    *Continue to practice writing responses to what they are reading in their reading journal.  They will make connections to the text.

    *Spelling:  Unit 31 (Inflectional endings)
     
    *Skills: fact and opinion, cause and effect, making generalizations,
    character, setting, plot, graphic sources, drawing conclusions,
    main idea and details, literary elements, sequence, compare and
    contrast, author's purpose, and summarize.
     
    Social Studies: 
     
     *We will continue Unit 4: Communities at Work.

     
    Science: 

     *We will continue Chapter 14: Heat, Temperature, and Light.
