Welcome to Millington School! My name is Karen Freeman and I have the privilege to be the nurse at Millington School. I have been a nurse for over 25 years in a variety of health care settings. The health and safety of your children is important to me. Their health has an impact on how they function as students. The health habits that they develop as children will impact them as they mature into adults. It is my goal to keep them healthy, give them a positive experience with a health professional, to encourage them to develop healthy habits, and to realize that they have an impact on their own health.Have you gotten your Flu shot yet?? It's not too late!! Flu usually arrives in New Jersey in January or February. Anyone who has asthma or any other breathing issues should always get a Flu shot.Check out this webpage to view 'The Wellness Impact". It's about how activity and healthy eating improves academic performance as well as overall health!!Please check out the January Nutrition Newsletter on my site!!Fuel Up to Play 60 - Millington School will be participating in the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program from November through June. It is not mandatory, but I would like to encourage everyone to sign up. The program fosters healthy eating and getting at least 60 minutes of exercise daily. The students can win prizes for themselves and for Millington School. If you have questions about it, you can go to the Web Resources section of my webpage and click on the Fuel Up to Play 60 link. Once on the site click on the FAQ section. I appreciate your support of this program.
